Dancing with colors, flirting with canvas, playing with creation — until there is nothing left but self, and truth. Some connections can only be painted.
THE PRACTICE
Art is Attentionism in its purest form.
I do not paint. I listen. Every time I sit down, an invisible guest arrives who wants to experience itself on canvas — a color, a form, a connection that has been waiting. I do not choose it, I make it visible. The painting knows what it wants to be. My only practice is to stay present enough to let it. Sometimes Persian words find their way all the way from ancient times to present. I welcome them in.
I Remember
I remember being an eagle flying over a meadow.
I remember being a man watching the eagle flying over a meadow.
I remember being a home housing the man who was watching the eagle flying over the meadow.
I remember being the window that allowed the light in.
I remember being the wind hugging the home housing the man who was watching the eagle flying over the meadow.
I remember being a river kissing the wind hugging the home housing the man who was watching the eagle flying over the meadow.
I remember being a rock resting in the river kissing the wind hugging the home housing the man who was watching the eagle flying over the meadow.
I remember being a girl lying on the rock resting in the river kissing the wind hugging the home housing the man who was watching the eagle flying over the meadow.
I remember being a bug singing in the hair of the girl lying on the rock resting in the river kissing the wind hugging the home housing the man who was watching the eagle flying over the meadow.
I remember being …everything.

ORGANIZATIONS
Contemplative Art Viewing
Art is not here to educate you. It is not here to decorate your world. It is here to show you something you cannot see any other way — the artist you already are, and the art you already hold within you.
In these sessions, a single work of art becomes the doorway. Mitra guides you gently through it — not into the painting, but into yourself. No history. No analysis. No right answers. Only presence, stillness, and the quiet revelations that arise when you stop looking with your eyes and start seeing with your heart.
Art has always known the way home. These sessions simply follow it.
Monthly CAV at the Fowler Museum
Every month, before the doors open to the public, a group gathers at the Fowler Museum at UCLA and stands in front of a single work of art. Sixty minutes. Open to everyone. You only need to come.
Check the Fowler Museum website for upcoming dates.
